Drag me to the library

Remember the Black Diamond, by night, for this big student party at the begining of September...

Well, as I mentioned in my post

It is actually a library.
It is full of mystery, enter the Black Diamond and you feel like you gain a toehold in Harry Potter's world.

These pictures were taken  on the 1st floor, you can find plenty of space if you come early in the morning (p.s: 11 is not early).

You can also relax enjoying a cookie at the café or even an hamburger at teh restaurant if your studying make you that hungry (greedy?)...

Anyway that's a fancier way to enjoy (?) studying...
And if you get bored, you can always go shopping...YES the BD is next to the city center...ENJOY!

Snowpenhagen!

Are you ready for Christmas yet?
Considering the storm yesterday I suppose Copenhagen was...Santa Claus is getting closer!

You think nice walk around the city, I think cold feet under the snow.
It was hardly possible to go on without being back home as a snow-woman...

Another new yummy discovery: Cold Stone Creamery

If you have ever passed by Illum on the Stroget, you might have noticed a nice entrance offering a clear view of sweetnesses paradise and might have caught sight of the Cold Stone Creamery.

There you can make your own ice-cream mix: you choose your perfume, then what you want to add with it (eg. Oreos (that's not a joke), cookies, black, milk or white chocolate, coco....) (OMG only thinking of it  I am nearly already on my way...)
Finally, the very nice girl in front of you will mix everything together while your papilla are quivering with envy......

And then you take it away whether you Like it (small size), Love it (medium size) or even Gonna have it (big size)!!!

Christmas is at our door... and now at Tivoli!

Can you see the little excitement flame in everyone's eyes?! It has just started to snow and everyone feels like a hot chocolate... It is definitly time to run to Tivoli to go deep into Christmas!

Since the 12th of December the famous attraction park, heart of Copenhagen has been even more magical than usually. It has never more been worth the 75Krs entrance.

You will see a wonderful range of decoration, a breathtaking illuminated tree, an incredible Christmas market full of delicacies ... and Santa Claus (of course)

Stockholm - Part 2: Culture, dear Culture

Stockholm is a city where you can find plenty of museums that can suit you. Before studying abroad, I was not a big fan of cultural expeditions, but now I discovered what each city can hold, I cannot stop going around trying to find out about new anecdotes of history, art...

I visited several museums in which:

- The Moderna Museet

http://www.modernamuseet.se/sv/Stockholm/

La serpentine, Matisse

Dali

Klein

- The Ostasiatiska Museet with the China's Teracotta Army exhibition

- The Vasamuseet

Stockholm, definitely a city to visit.

I'll tell you more about Copenhagen that I revisited this week as a friend came to see me. It is impressive how opening your eyes again can make you discover new spots in the place you live.

Stockholm - Part 1: the culture of cafés

Walking around the city, you find cafés EVERYWHERE, they all look fantastic. Their windows featuring delicious home-made cakes and the fancy decorations are temptations you cannot resist to.

With this cold no wonder why Swedish need a bit of warm comfort.

Here are two distinctive cafés that I fancied:

  • The first one is called Gildas RUM

The specifity of this place is the large range of Tea's flavours offered. The fancy cups were all different and it looked like you were in an old Disney cartoon... It was definitely one of a kind.

  • The second one is called CHOKLADKOPPE

This place is famous for its thick and tasty REAL hot chocolates.....hmmmm..... and its delicious cakes.

The atmosphere is very warm with small tables and the room decorated with funny frames as the one above...so original.
Scandinavians really rock in indoor design.

Exploring Scandinavia: STOCKHOLM

When in Copenhagen, I didn't want to miss the chance to enjoy some trips. After having experienced Eastern Europe (that I would make you discover in a next post), I wanted to talk to you about a closer country: Sweden.

What is amazing when being a student is the flexibility that enables you to get organized and to manage to go around the world.
Although it is always hard and time consumming to organize everything and to gather everyone, every student should experience it. My advice: don't try to hard to get everyone to come, travelling is amazing even if not all your friends are with you.

I went to Stockholm with 2 friends and it was more than enough. We had a great time together and as we were not a lot it was easier to arrange everything and agree on what we wanted to see.

Now, let me make you discover the amazing city of Stockholm full of cute typical cafés, big and little precious streets, beautiful people (especially girls, grrrr) and...COOOLD weather.
